Throughout the United States, many individuals are affected by different forms of cancer. While there are advanced treatments and technologies to help minimize the effects of this disease, many patients are unable to afford their cancer care. In the Coachella Valley specifically, the Desert Cancer Foundation serves as a resource for these individuals in order to receive adequate treatment and feel supported. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside the Foundation and start an event that will bring the community together through a 9 hole round of golf.
About the DCF
Welcome to the Fairways for the Future charity golf event for the Desert Cancer Foundation! 100% of all proceeds will be donated to the DCF in efforts to help those who need support.
The Desert Cancer Foundation, first established in 1994, seeks to assist citizens in the Coachella Valley who lack proper health insurance or funds. The Foundation works to cover costs associated with cancer care including screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

Fairways for the Future Charity Golf Event

Why I am hosting this event?
When I was very young, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, but because of her immense strength and access to resources, she was able to battle the disease. I am so grateful that she had the opportunity to obtain proper treatment, however that is not the case for many Americans. By partnering with the Desert Cancer Foundation, I am working towards helping cancer patients receive the care they deserve.
For the last 3 years my brother, Dilen Kakar, has hosted the Pink Pickleball Charity Event which is also in support of the Desert Cancer Foundation. I have been greatly inspired by him and wanted to create my own version of giving back to my community and making a difference.
About the Tournament
This is the Fairways for the Future charity golf tournament to raise money for the Desert Cancer Foundation! You will compete against other teams to win various prizes, while helping a great cause at the same time. Below are the tournament details:
ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE IN PERSON OR VIA OUR ONLINE DONATION LINK:
Check-in starts at 1:15 pm (range will be available at that time) and please come prepared with golf clubs. Water and snacks will be provided at the event location.
This will be a 9 hole round on the Arnold Palmer golf course at Mission Hills Country Club
The scramble format will be used with teams of 2, meaning that both players hit their shots, choose the best one, and continue playing from that spot until the ball is in the hole.
It will be a shotgun and will be organized into groups of 4 (2 teams).
Each team will be given a golf cart, so no push cart is necessary.
If you would like to register for this tournament, please fill out the Registration form! All levels are welcome at the event.
Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 at the event! These tickets will give you a chance to win various prizes!
If you would like to purchase an event EXCLUSIVE Fairways for the Future shirt ($15), let Liya know or message the tournament email (fairwaysforthefuture@gmail.com). All sizes are available. Must be notified about shirts 2 weeks prior to the event!
The lowest team score will be declared the winner at the end of the event!

This is the STANDARD TEAM PACKAGE. The 'Gold' player package includes one tournament entry into the team division.
